what’s going on

1. just won my first IM ultimate frisbee game today! WOOT WOOT! feels good to “WEEEEEENNNnnnnnn” (nacho libre)

2. you know that movie WANTED with james mcavoy? i wish those pools of wax they used as rejuvenation chambers were real.

3. berkeley kids are almost done with school. and i have 6 more weeks to go. and then i have summer school. sigh yigh yigh. come visit me if you’re free =D. i’ll make you a print, we’ll eat all you can eat sushi, and do other cool davis stuff!!

4. i got kicked outta costco today. i was so embarrassed… T____T!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. i am learning what it means/what it costs to have true worship - Matthew 26:7-10.

6. i am a child of God.

i was reading Romans the other day and i focused on this verse.

3 what if some were unfaithful? will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness?

Romans 3:3

THE ANSWER IS OBVIOUSLY NO, OF COURSE!!!!!!! nothing i do can change God’s infinite faithfulness for me. but sadly, there are so many times in my life when i just forget that truth. when i commit a sin or act unfaithful to God i start to live a life of shame and stupidity. i begin to believe that i need redeem myself and that i need to be faithful again before i can enter into God’s presence. sigh yigh yigh.

my prayer: that i will have a repentant heart. to restore fellowship with the Lord so that i may always be under your light

The Roles of Art

after reading june’s blog post, i wanted to attempt to answer the question: “what qualifies as art”

before i answer it, i’ll go through some of the roles of art.

1. art is visual language. art is tool that can be used as a means of communication. for instance, if i had this amazing story i wanted to tell, a dream i had the other day, or this feeling i wanted to express, it would be easier for me to translate those thoughts and feelings through an image or painting rather than words.

2. the REAL ART occurs / happens within the experience. art is not within an object or painting. it’s that moment when you see something and it punctures you. And when that happens, you carry those experiences with you for the rest of your life. It’s creation. It is all from God. it’s everywhere. It’s something that is better that anything I’ve ever made.

so to answer that question: what qualifies as art? anything and everything. it is FREE. it is for everyone. people need to slow down to see it.
